THE Prosecution closed yesterday at the preliminary inquiry (PI) in the Shaquille Grant murder case.
It was four weeks since the proceedings began before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, with Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting.
Defence Counsel Sonia Parag, for the accused, Terrence Wallace, handed over written submissions to the court and the prosecutor, who indicated that he will be ready to reply to them on December 24.
Wallace, who was further remanded to prison until then, is facing a joint charge with two other policemen, Corporal Warren Blue and Special Constable Jamal Lewis.
But, since the case was first called on Monday, October 1, only Wallace has made an appearance, accused of killing Grant last September 11, in Caesar Street, Agricola, Greater Georgetown.
However, arrest warrants are still out for Blue and Lewis.
The death of Grant and injury of 20-year-old Romel Bollers by the shooting had sparked widespread outcry and condemnation from residents of Agricola, human rights activists and the political Opposition.
