IN observance of the Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association’s 30th Anniversary and Christmas Dinner, held on Wednesday evening, a plaque was presented to the Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment, Mr. Robert Persaud acknowledging his sterling efforts and contribution to the mining sector.
The award follows an earlier announcement by the minister that Guyana’s historical gold declaration to date has surpassed 416,000 ounces.
According to a media release issued recently, Minister Persaud had also expressed the government’s appreciation and continued support for a viable and sustainable mining sector.
In addition, the minister noted that the GGDMA has been strongly supportive of the developmental efforts of the government towards the continuous growth of Guyana’s minerals sector.
Meanwhile, the minister congratulated the GGDMA on its 30th Anniversary and its achievement of this milestone for the gold sector as all continue to work together to increase gold recovery through improved technology.
