TATTOO artist Shamdial Ramroop, 31, of Tain Settlement, Corentyne, was remanded to prison last Thursday on a murder charge. Before Magistrate Fabayo Azore, at Albion Court, also at Corentyne, Berbice, he was charged with the unlawful killing of Ajai Cecil known as ‘Salt Sey boy’.
The accused is alleged to have been armed with a knife and inflicted a fatal stab wound on Cecil, before relieving him of his three silver rings, a silver band and a gold wedding band two Sundays ago.
The victim, who lived at Lot 110 ‘A’ Bhagan Street, Rose Hall, Corentyne, was returning home from a function at the Area ‘H’ ground, in company with his cousin, Radesh Bisham, when he was attacked, shortly before 01:00hr.
Cecil had also been celebrating his first wedding anniversary and was expecting his first child shortly.
The case will be called, again, on January 8, 2013.
