Wife forgives husband for wringing ear

PARMANAND Nauth of Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara pleaded guilty to assaulting Saywarrie Nauth when he appeared before Sparendaam Magistrate Alex Moore on Tuesday, 4th December. Police say that on Monday, 3rd December, Saywarrie left the home unknown to her husband; and upon her subsequent return, Nauth accused her of infidelity, and wrung one of her ears.

The children present during the incident began to scream, and neighbours summoned the police, who subsequently arrested Nauth.

Saywarrie, however, informed the court that this was the first such incident in their ten years of marriage, and she would not be offering any evidence against her husband in the matter.

Thereafter, Magistrate Moore advised the 31-year-old father of three to adjust his conflict-resolution methods, and that it was unbecoming of him to wring the ears of a grown woman.

The case against Parmanand Nauth was then discharged.
