TEN Republic Bank account holders have more reason to celebrate this Christmas after receiving prizes in the bank’s inaugural Electronic Banking Products Promotion 2012. The presentation of the prizes was done on Thursday, during a special ceremony at the bank’s Head Office, Promenade Court, Georgetown.
The first prize winner, William Holder, was awarded a Lenovo Tablet PC; second prize winner Clarence Cordis was awarded a Blackberry smart-phone; and third prize winner Sasenarine Singh won five months of free DSL Service.
Seven consolation prizes of $10,000 each were awarded to Shaan Poontow, Terence Bynoe, Nicholas Andrade, The Water Store, Christopher James, Nolan and Jacqueline Hendricks and Howard Bird.
At the ceremony, Manager of Information Technology Yonnette Greaves said Republic Bank strives to keep abreast with all the changing technologies while offering customers safe alternatives to conventional banking. Greaves noted that over the years the bank has continued to add to their suite of Electronic Banking products which now include: the Republic Visa OneCard which allows the user to shop anywhere in the world where Visa is accepted, Blue Machines – the ATM service with a fleet of 30 machines across the country, Point of Sale terminals, Republic Telebanker (telephone banking) and Republic Online (Online Banking).
She said that during the promotion which was conducted from May 2, 2012 to October 31, 2012, the bank saw a greater uptake of electronic banking services with 859 new users registering for internet banking service and 17,785 new users registering for the Telebanker service.
