GBTI donates substantially to charitable organisations

THE Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI), on Thursday, donated a total of $800,000 in cash to various local charitable organisations.

altCheques were presented to representatives of the charitable homes by various employees of GBTI at the bank’s Head Office at High and Young Streets, Kingston.

Organisations that benefited from donations were:
* Uncle Eddie’s Home
* The Salvation Army
* The Periwinkle Club
* The Dharm Shala Benevolent Home for All Races
* David Rose School for the Handicapped
* Guyana Red Cross Society
* Guyana Society for the Blind
* Guyana Relief Council

GBTI’s Administrative Manager, Sean Noel, stated that in giving those donations, GBTI intends to lend a hand to the organisations by keeping with its new motto, ‘Your Friend Your Bank’.
He also noted that, during the years, GBTI does not only see and learn, but also achieves; and sharing this meaningful amount with organisations makes a lot of difference in peoples’ lives.
The donations are considered an achievement, as the bank knows that the money would be put to beneficial use.
Representatives of recipient organizations expressed gratitude on receiving the donations, and they all indicated that the money would be put to good use to benefit members of the respective societies.
