Jaguar eats another dog at Goshen – escapes from trap

A jaguar measuring some seven feet in length and weighting more than 200 pounds is on the attack again at Goshen village in the Essequibo River. Reports said the fearsome animal is attacking dogs and poultry in the village located just opposite Bartica.

Reports from the village said the jaguar recently caught and killed a dog and was in the process of eating it when it was attacked by several villagers.
According to reports the jaguar escaped in the nearby jungle leaving almost half of the dog behind. Hunters then made plans to tie the remains of the dog on a limb of a tree and waited for the jaguar to return so they can shoot it to death but the jaguar seeing the trap just relaxed and slept in the bushes as hunters waited in vain.
One villager said the jaguar is causing fear in the community especially among school children who have to walk the lonely road to and from school.
