Dean announces Digicel policy changes …based on feedback

DIGICEL (Guyana) announced, on Monday, that  the data limit for mobile users between the hours of 06:00 hrs and midnight has been increased to 50 megabytes while the unlimited will continue to be provided from midnight through to 06:00 hrs.
According to Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Gregory Dean,“The adjustment to the Fair Usage Policy will give customers additional data usage without negatively impacting their access speed.”
The Fair Usage Policy was implemented

since the exceptionally high levels of data used by some customers were negatively impacting the quality of data service received by all subscribers, he explained.
He gave an undertaking that Digicel will review the policy over time and this has resulted in a revision.
Meanwhile, Digicel has conducted a number of upgrades on its core network as well as heavily utilised sites, resulting in improved data services.
This is an ongoing process and will see other sites receiving increased capacity and also some new sites in areas such as La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara.
Dean said the company is working assiduously to have all these works completed before the Christmas period.
“Subscribers will notice significantly improved data speed as a result of these upgrades, coupled with the new policy. We would like to thank everyone who gave us feedback on the change. We have tried to accommodate the various suggestions. We will continue to review the situation to better meet the needs of our customers,” he offered.
