GRADING Exams conducted by the Guyana Karate College (GKA) continued over the weekend in Linden and Albion with the Karate students being graded by Sensei Amir Khouri for Shuseki Shihan Frank Woon-A-Tai.
Continuing to assist the students in the outlying areas, Sensei Khouri travelled to the mining town of Linden on December 1 to conduct Karate examinations for 11 Linden students then travelled to the Ancient County of Berbice on December 2 to examine 15 Berbice karatekas at the Albion Community Centre ground.
In Linden, two students were promoted to Yellow Belt (8 kyu), one student was promoted to Orange Belt (7 kyu), two students were promoted to Green Belt (6 kyu), one student was promoted to Blue Belt (5 kyu), two students were promoted to Purple Belt (4 kyu), two students were promoted to Brown Belt (3 kyu) and one student was promoted to Brown Belt (1 kyu).
Outstanding among the KYU Grades were Mark Davis who skipped Yellow Belt to Orange Belt, and Coburn Robertson who skipped Purple Belt to Brown Belt.
In Berbice, five students were promoted to Yellow Belt, one student to Orange Belt, two students to Blue Belt, four students to Purple Belt, two students to Brown Belt and one student was promoted to Brown Belt.
