A 22-year-old miner was riding a motorcycle on the Essequibo Coast Public Road en route to Anna Regina last Saturday afternoon when, at a sharp bend in the Cullen Public Road, he collided with a truck laden with loam and was killed on the spot. Reports are that, around 14:30 hrs on Saturday, gold miner Leroy Adams of Sand Pit Road, Onderneeming, Essequibo Coast, was killed in a motor vehicular accident on the Cullen Public Road, Essequibo Coast.
Adams, who was driving a motor cycle with a cousin, Leandrew Gudge, as pillion rider, was involved in a collision with a truck. He succumbed, but Gudge, who suffered severe injuries to his head and face, was rushed to the Suddie Hospital, where he remains warded.
The loud impact of the accident drew a large crowd to the scene.
The dead motorcyclist has left to mourn his wife and a month-old daughter.
His body was taken to the Suddie Funeral Parlour, and the truck driver has been taken into police custody.
