Severe noise nuisance at Ogle/Industry Neighbourhood

I wish to highlight two issues which are affecting the peace of the Industry/Ogle neighbourhood, and also point to corruption in the PNC-run Plaisance-Industry Village Council. I hope that by bringing this to the public’s notice, the relevant authorities will bring some speedy resolution. Firstly, we the residents are bombarded with noise nuisance from all directions  not only on weekends, but on a daily basis. You have the Ogle Airport Bar, private residences including 71 sound systems on the Ogle burial ground road, a bar in Goedverwagting and the numerous bars on the Plaisance railway embankment near to the Plaisance Market. These individually/collectively play music into the late hours of the morning depriving residents of sleep and interfering with students’ study time.
Calling the police is simply a waste of time. The parking at Plaisance and the Airport Bar is unbelievable with the road being blocked on many occasions. We are appealing to the Minister of Home Affairs and the Commissioner of Police to bring immediate relief to us.
The second issue reeks of corruption by a party which is making big noise that it is out to expose corruption.
There is a government reserve at Area ‘H’ Ogle between lots 46/47 and lots 97/102. This area is clearly identified as a reserve by the Lands and Surveys Commission; however, this land has apparently been secretly and illegally sold by the PNC Council to a businessman (reportedly a lawyer). This person, to make matters worse, has constructed a dirt bridge to access this land, throwing truckloads of dirt over a small four-foot by one-foot diameter stiff plastic culvert. When the trucks run over this dirt bridge, dirt falls into the drainage system resulting in blockage and stagnated water with all of the associated ills such as stench, mosquitoes, flies etc.
We are demanding that this be remedied and asking the Ministers of Local Government, the recently installed IMC and the NDIA to address this matter urgently.
We also ask for a full, complete investigation of this corrupt fraudulent sale and for the PNC-run Council to be held accountable and provide full details of this corrupt transaction.
Mr. Editor we thank you for exposing these injustices and ask for your publicising of same.
