A RICE farmer was stung numerous times by African bees while overseeing clearing bushes from his Cozier Agriculture Scheme farm, on Essequibo Coast, last week Friday. The man, known only as ‘Junior’, was operating a front end loader that disturbed the insects’ hive when he came under attack and had to run for his life after hundreds of the bees swooped on him, stinging him about his body.
Recently, two other farmers suffered similarly while ploughing their fields with tractors and others were victims as they walked along the bushy dams.
