ROBERT Prescott, 59, of Lot 114 Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara, was found dead at a mining camp on Danjou Hill, Mahdia, Potaro and police are continuing investigations into the death. His daughter, Dianne Prescott, who spoke to the Guyana Chronicle from her Cloonbrook Housing Scheme residence, also on East Coast Demerara, said she last spoke to him on Monday and he indicated to her that he would be celebrating the festive season with the family.
She said her father left for Mahdia early in August and, usually, spends three to four months before returning.
She said he was a supportive, loving parent to her and other siblings and made every effort to support them.
According to her, he never spoke of any problems with co-workers and it was shocking to learn that he died in such a manner.
She said the family is awaiting information from the police before making burial arrangements.
The body of Robert Prescott, who left to mourn his wife and eight children, seven girls and a boy, was brought to the city yesterday morning.
