THE management of Radio Guyana INC (RGI) notes with some consternation the allegations made against it in the November 27 edition of the Kaieteur News, where it was stated that Radio Guyana Inc (RGI) willfully and deliberately interferes with the transmission of CNS 6 television broadcasts. A statement from RGI last evening said it operates a radio station with an adult contemporary music format, transmitting on the frequency 88.5MHz. RGI has invested heavily in transmission and monitoring technology and as a result, the engineering team of RGI has conducted exhaustive testing. The team categorically denies these dubious claims of interference.
Any concerns held by the management of CNS 6 should be reported to the National Frequency Management Unit (NFMU) for investigation rather than making spurious claims in the media.
Contrary to the accusations made by Sharma as reported in the Kaieteur News, Radio Guyana Inc. (RGI) has no interest in, and has made no attempt to have Channel 6 “silenced” nor to “make insignificant” particular programmes aired on that station.
