Defending champions Enterprise retain ECCB U-19 40-Over title

IN THIS year’s East Coast Cricket Board (ECCB) Under-19 competition eight clubs, namely defending champions Enterprise, Ogle, Plaisance, LBI, Mon Repos, Lusignan, Buxton, and Golden Grove participated. The competition started on September 2, 2012 and ended on November 17, 2012 with Enterprise Sports Club and Buxton Carl Hooper Cricket Club contesting the final at the Enmore Community Centre ground.
There were many promising young cricketers on display during the tournament with young Darrell Fredericks from Buxton the lone centurion of the tournament, Ameer Kishore of Enterprise and Richard Woolford of Golden Grove a 5-wicket haul apiece.
The ECCB is pleased to have run such a tournament which will allow for the preparation of ECCB Under-19 team and pledges its commitment for continuance and growth of this tournament in the future.

The Final
Enterprise won the toss and elected to bat and reached 228 for 7 off their allotted overs with Ravindra Beepat 71 and Ramesh Alkinson 38 leading the batting against the bowling of Vickram Ramkissoon who ended with figures of 3 for 37
Buxton in reply were bowled out for 93 in 26.4 overs, with Darrell Fredericks 37 being the lone batsman to show some resistance against the bowling of Tryanne Sheoprashad who took 5 for 11 and Vivian Alberts 3 for 13.
Meanwhile, the ECCB is appealing to clubs who can field an Under-15 team to make contact with Raymond Barton on 626-0223 for further details.
