Man remanded on cell phone theft charge

A MAN was remanded to prison by Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday, for, allegedly, stealing a cell phone.

Shawn Heyliger, 39, of Lot 70 Princes Street, Lodge, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on November 10, he stole the phone valued $7,000, property of Razil Moore.
Police Sergeant Vishnu Hunt, prosecuting, had no objection to bail but the magistrate refused it when the defendant admitted that he had previously served imprisonment for chopping another man recently.
Heyliger has to be back in court on November 20.
