BRAD Haddin declared he’s in the best form of his cricketing life but insists he’s no longer obsessed with reclaiming his spot in the Australian Test team.

Haddin continued his blistering start to the summer with a swashbuckling 108 not out on day one of the Bupa Sheffield Shield clash against Victoria at the SCG.
The 35-year-old, who is averaging 77 this season, looked in imperious form on the way to his second first-class ton of the campaign.
His unbeaten century helped the Blues to a competitive first-innings mark of 293 on a lifeless SCG deck, with the Bushrangers 0-12 in reply.
“I’m a NSW player, not an Australian player anymore,” Haddin said.
“My job is to perform here and keep the team moving forward. I’ve felt as good as I’ve felt for a long, long time at the start of this year.
“It was good today to get the result with all the work I’ve been putting in, but I’ve felt on top of my game since the first game of the year.”
Pressed on whether his latest century will enhance his chances of winning back his Test spot from Matthew Wade, Haddin replied: “I’m not too worried about it, I know my game’s in a really good place and all that stuff will take care of itself.
“My job’s just to perform here. I’m playing as well as I have for a long time and now it’s just about winning cricket games for NSW.
“I’m content with where everything’s at. I’ve always said my job’s to be the best player I can and at the moment from my point of view I’m moving in the right direction and I’m contributing to NSW moving forward.
“I’m pretty relaxed with everything else, I’m not really thinking about it. I’ve got other things to worry about other than that.”
Haddin was relatively happy with his side’s position after the opening day of play and hopes they create enough chances to skittle the Bushrangers for a low score.
“I think 293 is a good score,” he said. “We probably should have been six down at stumps, Victoria probably had the better of the day, but from our point of view we’ve just got to make sure we’re bowling at the stumps and creating chances.
“I don’t think it’ll be much different tomorrow, we’ll create enough chances if we bowl well.”
