GPF donates to Agricola -in bid to build better community relations

THE Guyana Police Force (GPF) in an effort to rebuild and foster better relations with residents of Agricola visited the community on Saturday and donated several items.

altPresenting these items was Commander of the’ A’ Division of the GPF, George Vyphuis along with Public Relations Officer, Senior Superintendent Whitney Bacchus and other members of the GPF at the Agricola playground.
In an invited comment Commander Vyphuis stated that some of the items donated were a television, a DVD player, a blackboard and food items.
The items went towards the assistance of the Shaquille Grant Foundation, the Scouts Association of Agricola and residents.
He pointed out that some of the items were donated by Kashif and Shanghai, Chino’s trading, Food for the Poor and BK International among others.
He added that work is being done around the community, such as tidying up the school compound so that the children would have better recreational facilities.
He stated that Agricola would be one of the safe neighbourhoods and the residents are working exceptionally hard to make this a possibility.
He also said lauded mother of the late Shaquille Grant for all her help as she has been working alongside the police in making Agricola, through the Shaquille Grant Foundation, a better community.
Vyphuis indicated that he is very committed to work with young people and has been doing so for quite some time.
He explained that he has the backing of the entire police force, the Police Commissioner and all senior officers and the management teams along with various business entities.
He revealed that a Christmas party is being planned for the community and donations to make the event a possibility are already on its way, as persons are coming forth with assistance for the occasion such as offering free photographs, toys and music among other item.
