FORMER Ambassador to Brazil, Kellawan Lall, has been appointed Coordinator of Public Information in the Office of the President (OP). Head of the Presidential Secretariat and Cabinet Secretary, Dr Roger Luncheon, made the announcement yesterday at his weekly post-Cabinet press briefing at OP, Shiv Chanderpaul Drive in Georgetown.
The focus of Lall’s engagement would be the information needs of the administration. “As you are aware, some novel legislation is on the books…access to information, the likelihood that the lives of the state media GINA, NCN would continue to be probed, negatively affected by the parliamentary opposition,” Luncheon said.

Lall, who also previously served as Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, will be involved in formulating, improvement and amending policies, and acting on behalf of the administration in bringing to the public’s attention matters that the administration considers important.
