MOHABIR Singh (no address given) was sentenced to three months imprisonment yesterday, after he admitted stealing a bag containing a piece of cheese, a packet of tennis rolls and money. He appeared before Magistrate Leron Daley and pleaded guilty to the November 6 offence committed in Brickdam, Georgetown.
The booty, worth a total of $2,290, belonged to Omar Hussein.
The prisoner also made use of threatening behaviour towards Hussein, telling the court he was hungry and decided to snatch the virtual complainant’s bag.
Singh said he became angry when he was caught by a policeman and behaved in a disorderly manner.
