THE tyranny of the one-seat majority which the opposition APNU/AFC has is because they do not have an economic plan for their constituents, other than to cause chaos in the black communities. So the AFC tries to outstrip APNU in its radicalism, hoping black people will flock to them.
Opposition activists like David Hinds follow a master plan to keep their support base dependent on government handouts. The Guyana Government also has an obligation to help all with their infrastructural development.
When enabled, the local government of the communities can make their own development plans to attract and encourage private businesses, to make their communities better and less dependent on central government.
But the opposition and their extremist activists are more involved in whipping up the two percent of uneducated and criminal elements to take to the streets and protest violently, disrupting the lives of everyone.
What is surprising is that the residents of black communities are not given an economic plan by either Messrs David Granger, David Hinds, Khemraj Ramjattan, Moses Nagamootoo or Nigel Hughes. None are economists.
What is the opposition economic plan to make Linden, Buxton or Agricola better, besides relying on the government? Is APNU or the AFC actively involved in attracting investors to Linden, Agricola or Buxton?
What’s next? More tumult and harassment of citizen commuters!
Many individual states in America and India are encouraging and getting foreign companies to build industries in their respective localities, with the blessing of the central government, to create jobs, commerce and banking. Such an approach can make proud all black communities, especially Linden, and give them a better, new image as industrious residents.
My suggestion to the opposition is for them to show the central government that the opposition is not only about street hooliganism, but that they can think outside the box to develop their communities.
The opposition should get the best economic minds and even Nobel peace laureate Mohammad Yunus with their expertise to aid in developing their communities.
