SPEARHEADED by popular United States-based businessman and philanthropist, George Subraj, the Sevak-Zara Health Project, a medial outreach, has been planned for the Region 3 community of Cornelia Ida and its environs, today. The outreach will be facilitated by Kidney Surgeon Dr Rahul Jindal of the Walter Reed Medical Centre in Washington D.C. and Kidney Specialist Dr Thakor Patel of the Department of the United States Navy.
The visiting team, which is collaborating with the Saraswati Vidya Niketan (SVN) School, has plans to visit schools and communities in order to screen persons, at no cost, for high blood pressure, diabetes, heart conditions and to educate them on water sanitation as well as to promote lifestyle modifications.
According to the organisers, this is arguably the first time that such a large-scale outreach has been planned for the Region 3 area which is expected to have a long-lasting impact in the delivery of health care.
The outreach is set to commence at 16:00 hrs today at the SVN School.
