Where is the GHRA?

I do not want to waste time presenting a long diatribe, so I will field a few questions first. I am directing my queries to the general public, but I desire some responses from the Guyana Human Rights Association.

Recently, innocent people were threatened, robbed and beaten when the now infamous ‘Agricola/Linden protests’ were taking place. During these diabolic few days, the general public was put at risk and had to endure serious inconvenience. Mind you, the incidents leading up to the protest were being investigated, namely, the use of ‘extra’ and ‘unnecessary’ force by the Guyana Police Force, and its members’ ‘bullying people.’ So, not hearing from the GHRA is most surprising. Mind you, the government was most lenient and suffered a lot of flack during this time.
My mind goes to Corporal Kwesi Lawrence of the Tactical Services Public Order Unit, who sustained burns on the insides of both thighs and who was also hit in his left eye. The officer was seeking to quell barbaric behaviour from the residents. Again, where was the GHRA?
When Sharma Solomon said that the ‘battle is not done’ and that the ‘war is not over’ the GHRA did not caution him. How about when  Mr. David  Hinds, who unsuccessfully sought to incite Buxtonians to ‘dig up’ the roads and ‘burn tyres.’ He was not censured by the GHRA. Yet this same body comes out and criticises the government, when it is seeking to make life safe for Guyanese.
In fact, sections of the ‘enemy media’ quoted Mr. Hinds as saying: “One thing the Lindeners learned from us is how to barricade roads, how to dig up roads. I don’t have to teach you all in Buxton how to do that.” Talk about ‘wanting to rumble and war!’
So it was Linden and Agricola and could have been Buxton too. Yet, I ask, where are the GHRA and other ‘good’ groups such as the Red Thread? Yes, criminal elements are now ‘freedom fighters’ according to these poseurs. They pander to the opposition and add fuel to incendiary situations.
I think that ‘human rights’ is not understood by the GHRA. It needs complete condemnation.
