A team from the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) is expected to visit Guyana in the last week of October to meet with stakeholders in the broadcast industry.
Making the announcement Thursday at his weekly post-Cabinet media briefing, in Office of the President, Shiv Chanderpaul Drive, Georgetown, Head of the Presidential Secretariat (HPS), Dr. Roger Luncheon said TATT is the sister agency of the National Frequency Management Unit (NFMU) of the Guyana Spectrum Management Frequency Allocation Regulatory Body and that the coming of the delegation is organised in the context of the implementation of the provisions of the Broadcast Act and the activities of the Governing Board of the Broadcasting Authority.
“Their focused engagement with stakeholders would be the basis and would be used by the visiting team from Trinidad and Tobago to share experiences among regulatory bodies involving media practitioners,” he said.
In addition, Luncheon said, during their stay, it is anticipated that they would also engage policy makers and, at a public forum, with the different players in the broadcast industry.
