THE two policemen, Ledon Aaron and Marlon Letlow, who were found murdered on Wednesday at Karisparu Village, Region 8, both died as a result of gunshots about the body.
This was confirmed by a post mortem performed yesterday morning on the bodies of the two policemen by government pathologist Nehaul Singh.
Speaking with the Guyana Chronicle yesterday, the family spoke of the pathologist’s report.
Letlow’s aunt, Samantha Alleyne, of 23 Goedverwagting, East Coast Demerara, told the Guyana Chronicle that the report found that her nephew was killed as a result of gunshot wounds.
Meanwhile, the uncle of Ledon Aaron, Malcolm Providence, of 338 Track “A” Coldingen, East Coast Demerara, said that the report told of his nephew being killed by gunshots to his chest, face and head.
This reporter, who viewed the body before the post mortem, saw the upper part of the body burnt beyond recognition.
According to Providence, who was present during the post mortem, the pathologist removed approximately nine bullets from the body of Aaron. He said that the doctor informed him that there were more bullets lodged in the body.
Yesterday afternoon Commissioner, Leroy Brummell said that the police were still investigating, and added that the force is not in possession of solid information or evidence that the two policemen were involved in any robbery prior to their death.
On Wednesday, the bodies of the two police constables, Aaron and Letlow, were found at Karisparu Village, Region 8. The police sent in a team of investigators from the city to look into the murders.
The bodies of the men were found almost three days after they left the Kato Police Station on Sunday night, at approximately 22:00 hrs to conduct a scheduled patrol of the area.
