A RESIDENT of Hubu, East Bank Essequibo, is now dead after leaping from a window at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
Reports are that 35-year-old Vishal Ramotar died around 20:00hrs Friday as a result of injuries sustained from the fall. According to GT Online News, the man, reportedly a patient at the hospital for just over two weeks had been undergoing treatment for kidney failure and had been experiencing severe pain.
Fellow patients on the ward said he was in so much pain, he was always crying. He apparently reached his limit Friday night, as he decided to end it all by jumping to his death, despite the many efforts to discourage him.
One patient disclosed that when Ramotar realized that attempts were being made to summon help, he made the fatal jump. He insisted that the man did not fall, but rather jumped to his death.
