PRESIDENT Donald Ramotar has committed the Government’s support to ensure that the partnership in services at the Doobay Medical Centre Inc. continues, as it is an important method to development.
The Head of State’s comment came during a luncheon which was held Sunday on the lawns of the medical centre, located at Annandale, East Coast Demerara.
“Partnership is important for us (country), to grow and to develop….but for this to happen, government, society and private sector partnership is critical,” the President was quoted as saying by the Government Information Agency (GINA).
President Ramotar committed to ensuring that cooperation between the State and the institution continues, pointing to the fact that Guyanese are the ones to benefit from such collaboration.
The President is expected to hold talks with the centre’ President, Dr. Budhendra Doobay shortly, to discuss possible collaboration and to render assistance where necessary.
“We (Government), will do what it takes to ensure that quality services are provided to the people of Guyana…this is the reason we are investing heavily in the social sectors annually,” he said.
Alluding to the fact that collaboration is integral, President Ramotar spoke of his recently launched Disapora project in the United States, which works with projects such as the Doobay Medical centre to offer assistance and services to under-privileged Guyanese.
He also congratulated the proprietors for their achievements thus far.
