Fogarty’s, Laparkan announce winners of back-to-school, GuyExpo promotions

WILLIAM Fogarty’s Limited staged a drawing at its Water Street, Georgetown store on Thursday for the firm’s annual ‘Back to School’ and the Laparkan Group of Companies’ GuyExpo promotions. The ‘Back to School Smart Rewards’ promotion was open to customers who were given a coupon after each making purchases of $1,500 or more during the period July 16 to September 30 in the participating companies/divisions.

Those who purchased with the Ministry of Education’s school vouchers received double the amount of coupons, all of which were counted on Thursday in the presence of the internal auditors.  

A total of 56,775 coupons were distributed during the allotted period, and the first prize was an Acer Aspire 5750 Notebook; second prize was a new Apple Ipad with Wi-Fi, 16GB & Multi-5 OMP Isight camera; whilst third prize was one Playstation 3 with London Olympics 2012 Games.

First prize winner was Alicia Bacchus of Lot 29B Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara; second prize winner was Xevion Franklin, of Lot 9 Vigilance, East Coast Demerara; whilst third prize went to Thalia Barlow Dick of Lot 42 Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara.

Managing Director of Fogarty’s, Ms. Bobita Rambrich, said: “Customers’ preferences have changed a lot over the years, and we believe that the lucky winners of these prizes will certainly be able to learn, teach, play and enjoy. At the same time, we are encouraging Guyanese students and parents to keep abreast with these changes, and take full advantage of what technology can do to improve our lives.”

Meanwhile, in the Laparkan Group of Companies’ GuyExpo promotion, discount coupons were available to individuals 18 years and over who visited the Laparkan Office Equipment & Supplies Division and William Fogarty’s Limited booths at the National Exhibition Site at Sophia from September 27 to 30.

Those visitors were given coupons to make purchases in the Fogarty’s Store; and for every $3,000 spent, a discount of $300 was issued.  

That promotion lasted from September 28 to October 31, and the rewards were as follows: first prize — two tickets to New York; second prize – a Canon printer and digital camera; third prize — $50,000 in groceries; fourth prize – two luggage suitcases; fifth prize – a blender and toaster; sixth prize – the shipment of a barrel from New York (with duty paid by the customer); seventh prize – a beauty hamper; eighth prize – lunch for five at the Rosebud Cafeteria, and ninth prize – gift certificates valued $10,000.
The winners of those prizes were: first prize — Marilyn King of Lot 37 Friendship, East Bank Demerara; second prize — Ishwarchand Iluar of Lot 499 Foulis Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara; third prize — Rajpattie K. Singh of Lot 13 Station Street, Kitty, Georgetown; fourth prize — Rickford Fanfair of Lot 144 Lindley Avenue, Nandy Park, East Bank Demerara; fifth prize — Violda Mendonca of Lot 371 Phase 2-C Wisroc Housing Scheme, Upper Demerara River; sixth prize — Latchmin Singh of Lot 35 Section C, Clonbrook Village, East Coast Demerara; seventh prize — Lennox Aaron of Lot 22 Kissoon Street, Better Hope, East Coast Demerara; eighth prize — Rhea Kowlessar of Lot 24 Section C, Clonbrook, ECD; and ninth prize — Mohamed J. Hanniff of Lot 3 Richardstown, Lusignan, East Coast Demerara.
