Anna Catherina triple murder… : Police to lay charges soon

DEPUTY Police Commissioner, Law Enforcement, Mr Seelall Persaud, has disclosed that one person is to be charged with the murder of businesswoman, Jennifer Persaud and her two sons, whose bodies were found with their throats slit on September 22, 2012 in their Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara home. He added that police are still waiting to receive from the laboratory blood analysis done on items retrieved by sleuths from the crime scene of the triple murders; but the late Jennifer Persaud’s reputed husband and his uncle, and two of her six children were placed on station bail pending completion of investigations.

The senior police officer said that blood samples recovered from clothing and other items in the house were taken away by detectives for analysis, and the detectives are still awaiting the results.

However, police reported that post-mortems performed on the bodies of Jennifer Persaud and her two slain sons by Government Pathologist, Dr. V. Brijmohan, on September 24, 2012, the gave cause of their deaths as hemorrhage and shock due to stab wounds.

Investigators had discovered blood in the bathroom of the home, and also that the birth certificate for Persaud’s youngest child had been missing, and that his clothes were found packed in a bag in the house on the night of the murder as among new leads for the police to follow.

An uncle of Persaud’s reputed husband was taken into police custody last Saturday for questioning into the homicide. The man, whose address was given as Sixth Street, Anna Catherina, was arrested shortly after the gruesome murder had been discovered.
