ONE of three suspects in the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Imran Mohamed, of Belle West, Canal Number Two Polder, West Bank Demerara, has turned himself in and is assisting with the investigations.
Crime Chief Seelall Persaud, who made the disclosure yesterday, said the youth had been advised by a lawyer but it was his parents who accompanied him to the Police station.
The Deputy Commissioner (Law Enforcement) said two other suspects, who may be in hiding since the murder, are still being hunted.
Police said Mohamed, a carpenter, was killed about 18:30 hrs on Monday, at Belle West Public Road and investigations revealed that he was involved in an argument, over the alleged theft of a gold chain, with a juvenile who was accompanied by two others.
The victim was fatally stabbed in his chest.
Meanwhile, Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of fisherman Sam Lall, 23, of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, who was found, about 06:00 hrs on Tuesday, with a suspected stab wound to his chest.
He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where he succumbed.
A woman has since been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the probe.
