Man expressing remorse for indecent language reprimanded by magistrate –man and wife ordered for counselling

MARK Singh is alleged to have made use of obscene language to Sujatta Persaud on August 21, at Regent Street, Georgetown. He appeared yesterday before Georgetown Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, and pleaded guilty to the charge.
Police Corporal Evelyn Sampson, prosecuting, said the defendant and virtual complainant are reputed husband and wife, and on the day in question, the couple had a discussion about purchasing school stuff for their three children when the defendant became annoyed and used a series of obscene language to the virtual complainant.
The prosecutor said the virtual complainant called the police, and the defendant was arrested and charged.
The defendant, who was before the court on a similar matter, expressed regret for his action. He begged the magistrate not to send him to jail again, because he has children to take care of. He admitted that he was wrong to use such language to his reputed wife.
The magistrate reprimanded the defendant, and ordered that both parties be counselled for one year.
