Plaintiff seeks to prove an $18M debt with promissory note

PLAINTIFF Stephanna  Kassim is claiming $18M from defendants  Shivsankare Kellawan and Marska Bowen jointly and severally on the basis  of a  promissory note dated  8th  March, 2007. According to a writ filed in the Supreme Court Registry, the promissory note is  to be led  in evidence since the defendants have acknowledged  making the note and producing same for value received.
It was a term of the aforesaid promissory note that the aforesaid sum of $18M was payable on demand to the plaintiff.
And according to the plaintiff, despite demands by the plaintiff to the defendants, they have refused or are unable to pay the $18M.
It was pointed out that if the amount claimed is  paid to the  plaintiff or his attorney-at-law within four days from the date of service,  further  proceedings will be stayed.
The specially endorsed writ was issued by Attorney-at-Law,  Robin Hunt on behalf of the plaintiff, a businesswoman of Oleander Gardens, East Coast, Demerara.
The matter has been fixed for Bail Court on September 3,  2012.
