MINIBUS driver Marlon Bowen yesterday pleaded not guilty before Georgetown Magistrate Hazel Octive Hamilton to the charge that, on August 15, at Avenue of the Republic, Georgetown, he stole one Blackberry cell phone valued $40,000., property of Alancia Lloyd. Attorney-at-law Mr. Paul Fung-a-Fat, representing the defendant, requested reasonable bail. He said his client informed him that the virtual complainant left her phone atop a freezer and claimed that the defendant had stolen it.
Police Corporal Shevon Jupiter, prosecuting, did not oppose bail, but asked that a condition be attached, since both defendant and virtual complainant work in the said environ.
Bowen and Lloyd both agreed to have nothing to do with each other until the matter has been determined.
The defendant was placed on $15,000 bail, and the matter was set for recall on October 1.
