VEERAJ Persaud, 32, of Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara is nursing a gunshot wound to the left knee, inflicted on him by a licensed firearm holder during a row over a woman. Police said that at about 16:30 hrs on Sunday, Persaud was at Double Day Hotel and Bar at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo when he was injured by gunshot during a melee, and was admitted at a hospital. The licensed firearm holder is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
Police have seized the firearm.
