No break in the summer’s heat in sight as…Jamzone Summer Break gets off to a rollicking start

‘JAMZONE Summer Break 12’ kicked off this weekend with the biggest Chutney/Bollywood show of the year. More than 20 artistes and four bands arrived in Guyana for the Jamzone Chutney Summa Mega Concert. Karma band; Ashnie Singh & the 2 Famous band; De Hunter; Hitman; Anil Bheem & BMRZ Band; Rakesh Yankarran; Chris Garcia; Rick Ramoutar; Vanessa Ramoutar; Terry Gajraj; Mahendra Ramkellawan; Fiona Singh and the Shakti Strings are just a few of the great entertainers who took to the stage last night at the Guyana National Stadium.

Tomorrow, the Jamzone celebrations continue at the Night of Jazz, Food and Fashion, which will be held in the Promenade Gardens. Patrons will enjoy soothing music, splendid local and international cuisine, an impressive fashion show, and a special Dutch auction.

They will be serenaded by the GT Jazz Project band, with vocals by songbirds Jackie Hanover, Lisa Punch and Celeste David, as they dine and mingle under the stars.

Trinidad’s Maxi Williams and Guyanese fashion prodigy, Mwanza Glenn will put on an exotic fashion show.

Additionally, Caribbean Airlines are expected to stamp their presence on the event by giving two lucky patrons round trip tickets.

Tickets for this event, costing $2,000, are available at Ashmin’s Trading and at the Sidewalk Cafe.

The Jamzone 2012 fun continues all week with various events catering to people of varying interests.
