A United States-based Bartician Mr. Robert “Yankee” De Putron on Tuesday made a donation of two barrels of books to the Region 7 (Potzro/Mazaruni) Education Department. This donation can as an initiative from the Administrative Assistant from Three-Mile Secondary School Mrs. Jacqueline Thomas, who has received previous donations last year for the school.
Mr. De Putron expressed his interest in improving the education performance of the Region as he has visited some of its interior locations and outlined some of the needs of the communities there.
He is also involved in providing food hampers to 12 families in Bartica. He said: “It’s a thoughtful effort spending time here in the Amerindian communities, especially Imbamadai, seeing some of the needs of the younger folks to expand their knowledge to better themselves in the country they live in.”
He has pledged to continue efforts to help the Region “Once God has spared him. “
