SHAKEEL FLATTS, 10, of Lot 123 Section ‘C’ Sophia, Greater Georgetown, has been missing since July 22 after he abandoned his mother at a church service.
The boy’s destination remains unknown up to date and his mother, Euclyn Burnette, 31, is very worried as to his location. She told the Guyana Chronicle that even though an article was published on Monday no one called regarding his whereabouts.
The mother of five is hoping that the public can assist her in finding her son, who has not been seen since July 22 while they were at Kingdom Hall at Stone Avenue, Campbellville, in the city, from where he managed to leave the church service undetected.
Burnette, a single parent, stated that she has since been searching for her child and even filed a missing person’s report with the police. She explained that her son went away during the day a few times before but at nightfall he would go by his aunt, also in Sophia, and spend the evening before returning home. She is clueless as to his whereabouts.
The pupil of Sophia Primary School is delinquent habitually. He roams the streets while his mother, the sole breadwinner of the family, is away at work.
Flatts was last seen clad in a blue and white jersey with black long jeans and puma slippers. He is dark skinned and thin-boned.
He will be celebrating his 11th birthday on August 11, 2012, and persons who may have information on the whereabouts of the child are asked to call the nearest police station or his mother on 661-4425.
