Hello Mr. Granger, what is your stand on the current Linden situation?

PLEASE do not consider me presumptuous, I am just concerned about the way things are developing in Linden, and wondering what is your stand in all of this. Linden is under siege by a few whom I consider as misguided and this misguidance comes from the distortion of facts and information by the Regional Chairman. You, Sir, might find it hard to believe this, so allow me to share one example of what I am claiming. The Stakeholder Group which included reps from the RDC, (The Chairman) the Town Council, the Chamber of Commerce, the Religious Community, Linmine  The Pensioners Association, the two companies distributing power and LEN met and agreed to seek audience with the President. It was also agreed at that meeting that the group will adopt the position put forward by the RDC as the position of the people of Linden, the Chairman was requested that the document be circulated among the group so that everyone could be fully acquainted with it.
To date, no information has been provided and when the group was invited to meet with the President the Chairman chose to absent himself, and has since then excluded the rest of the stakeholders from any interaction with the President. At all of his meetings with the group the Chairman repeatedly stated that he had asked the politicians to stay away as this was a people’s struggle, yet he attends meetings with the President accompanied by POLITICIANS instead of the stakeholders. The most recent act of misguidance is his failure to properly notify the stakeholders of the President’s request for us to be present at all future engagements and his frivolous excuse at not doing so.

Sir, this situation has already caused serious damage to investor confidence in our region, prolonged continuation will only bring further erosion to whatever little is left. There is the urgent need for this situation to be brought to an end so that proper negotiation can begin. I do believe that you can have great influence in making this a reality.

Best Regards
