Macorp executive donates golf winnings to Cheshire Home

MACHINERY Corporation of Guyana Limited (MACORP) Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jorge Medina, two Fridays ago donated a cheque valued $150,000 to the Cheshire Home for the Disabled in Mahaica. Medina took the first prize in the Scotiabank-sponsored charity golf tournament in April. His gesture was in keeping with a promise made by the Bank to donate a total of $325,000 to various charities, based on the choices of the first, second and third place winners.
Medina chose to donate his portion of $150,000 to the Cheshire Home.  The cheque was handed over to Ms. Bhanmatie Jagesar, a clerk of the organisation, in the presence of Ms. Patricia Bailey, the administrator of the Home.
Medina is an avid golf player, but doesn’t play much due to him having a busy schedule. He won the tournament from a field of over 40 participants.
