CRUSOE Hinds, 25, of Lot 196 D’Anrade Street, Newtown, Georgetown, has been charged with unlawful wounding. In front of Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday, it was alleged that, on July 26, at his home, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded his uncle, Stanford Williams, by stabbing him twice.
The nephew pleaded guilty and the Police Prosecutor, Corporal Simone Payne said the virtual complainant had come downstairs for a bath, when Hinds took a knife and stabbed him.
Despite the fact of the medical certificate showing that the injured man suffered two wounds, the defendant claimed he had inflicted only one.
After Hinds admitted that he had previously spent 16 months in jail, on conviction for robbery under arms and was released six months ago, he was sent back to prison on remand, pending sentence on July 30.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor is to produce his past record.
