DEVANAND Singh (no address given) yesterday appeared before Sparendaam Magistrate Alex Moore, charged with causing damage to property; wherein it was alleged that on July 13, at Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara, he maliciously and unlawfully damaged a window valued at $30,000, property of Richard Gossai. Pleading guilty to the charge, Singh told the court that he was willing to immediately pay for the damages done, and he was allowed to do so.
After promising Magistrate Moore not to commit a similar act in future, Singh was placed on a bond to keep the peace for six months, and was cautioned that any breach of this bond would attract a one-month prison sentence.
