R1 Vodka Inter-Corporation dominoes tourney heavily supported

THE Next Level Sports Club will be holding their fourth annual Inter-Corporation dominoes competition at Banks DIH Limited from July 27 to 28, following the official launch on Wednesday, which will see teams compete for supremacy on a two-in-one-out basis under the rules of the Guyana Dominoes Association. Since the launch, corporate entities have indicated their willingness to come on board.
Banks DIH has sponsored the first prize of $175 000 while TNT Dominoes Team has sponsored the second place prize and Digicel Guyana has committed trophies and medals for the third-, fourth- and fifth-placed teams.
Steve’s Jewellery of Church Street has committed one gold chain for the Most Valuable Player of the tournament while Nigel’s Supermarket, who has been on board during numerous tournaments, has already donated a packed hamper for the recipient of the first double love.
Other sponsors include King’s Jewellery World, H. Persaud Grocery, Giftland OfficeMax, Guyana Lottery Company, Beepat & Sons, HJTV, Bovell Construction, H.B Curtis & Associates, East End Taxi Service, Reginald Benn, Godfrey Rollins, F&H Printing Establishment, Patterson & Patterson Associates, Jiffi Lubes, Supremacy Trading & Investment Services, Universal Janitorial Services, White Castle Fish Shop, Health Sector Development Unit, Citizens Bank Guyana Limited, Samuel Humphrey’s Investments and Humphrey’s Bakery
The previous Inter-Corporation dominoes tournament which was held on February 3 – 5 at Banks DIH Sports Club with a record attendance of fifty-five teams was won by F&H Printing Establishment, who are now the holders of the first Lien Trophy presented by Banks DIH Limited.
This time around the organisers are aiming much higher as more teams have indicated their participation, with the total sponsorship for the tournament amounting to approximately $750 000.
The club also rendered assistance to the mother of Emmanuel Pratt, aged two, with financial aid for a kidney surgery in February of last year.
Registration fee is $9 000 per team of which $2 000 from each team registration will be presented to one of three Charitable Homes. This can be done by contacting the organisers on tel# 223-6500, 697-2929 and 629-8128 before July 20, the deadline. The first thirty (30) teams that are registered will receive a gift.
Ministries and corporations are invited to field up to three teams with nine players per team for this event.
