– says ‘serious action’ will be taken against anyone caught
The Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday said it has taken note of incidents of vandalism of cables belonging to the Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company (GT&T) by unscrupulous persons, for the purpose of acquiring copper. The Ministry, in a press release, said that cognizant of the implications of downed telephone lines, persons are urged to desist from this criminal activity and warned that serious action will be taken against anyone caught vandalizing telephone cables.
The ministry also urged members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity with regard to telephone cables, in their neighbourhood.
