Stag Beer action continues this weekend

HIGH energy football action will continue in East and West Demerara, as the Stag Beer Senior Football League in both associations continues over the weekend with double-headers at Den Amstel and Beterverwagting Community Centre grounds, commencing at 14:00hrs and 16:00hrs respectively. Tomorrow’s action on the West side will take place at the Den Amstel Community Centre ground, where Den Amstel will be home to Wales United in the opening fixture, while the feature game will see league leaders Uitvlugt Warriors meet Eagles.
At the Beterverwagting Community Centre ground, a Buxton invasion is expected as Buxton United meet Mahaica Determinators in the opening encounter and in the feature match Buxton Stars face Ann’s Grove.
On Sunday, the action continues at the same venues with West side matches – Pouderoyen Young Achievers up against Bagotville, and the feature match between Seawall and Beavers.
At Beterverwagting on Sunday, Victoria Kings and Golden Stars will meet, as the feature matchup will bring together Plaisance and home club BVTUFC.
Andre Hector and Gideon Payne are expected to lead the Den Amstel challenge as Wales will be under the captaincy of Kelvin Roberts with support from Quessey Alleyne and Gavin De Coata.
Uitvlugt Warriors will respond to their last weekend’s loss with veteran defender Orville Bobb as player/coach and support from Dellon Lanferman, while the Eagles will be in full range with Kester Tyrell on target.
On the east side Buxton United will see Jamaal Booker and Les Charles Critchlow in their lineup as Mahaica will field the same squad that lost their opening game to Victoria Kings while very little is known of Ann’s Grove since they had not taken the field of play in the league as they won a walkover against Golden Stars.
Buxton Stars will see in their lineup Samuel Critchlow, Owen Bobb, and Bako Lewis, while BVTUFC will return with their ace marksman Delroy Deen, who will be supported by young Malo Wilson.
