SCARBOROUGH, Tobago (CMC) – Jamaica remained unbeaten with a convincing win over Guyana while Trinidad and Tobago kept up their form with a victory over Barbados, in the fourth round of matches in the Regional Under-17 Championship in Trinidad and Tobago on Friday. Playing at Shaw Park, Jamaica strolled to a 108-run win over the previously unbeaten Guyana while hosts T&T steamrolled Barbados by 168 runs at Bon Accord.
Winning the toss and batting, Jamaica tallied 162 for nine off their 50 overs with Odain McCarthy top-scoring 39 and Ramaal Lewis and Fabian Allen both getting 28.
Left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie (2-16) and leg-spinner Steven Sankar (2-21) finished with two wickets apiece.
Guyana then surprisingly slumped to 54 all out in reply, with Tagenarine Chanderpaul top-scoring with 16.
Left-arm spinner Fabien Allen finished with four for eight while Ramaal Lewis supported with two for 18.
At Bon Accord, T&T piled up a massive 326 all out off 50 overs with Brian Christmas hitting 92, Nicholas Pooran, 74, and Jeremy Solozano, 62.
Left-arm fast bowler Jerome Jones claimed three for 58 with Tariq Shorey taking two for 49.
Lee-Germon Gaskin then stroked 86 but Barbados were dismissed for 158 off 34.1 overs, in reply.
Jesse Bootan (3-24) and Jovan Ali (3-37) picked up three wickets apiece.
At Plymouth, Windward Islands beat Leeward Islands by four wickets, with Keone George stroking 81 not out to lead his side to victory.
