Policeman seriously injured in driving accident

A POLICEMAN attached to the Anna Regina Police Station on the Essequibo Coast was admitted to Suddie Public Hospital after suffering serious injuries in an accident early Tuesday morning.
The injured man (name not given) was driving a motor car and had been proceeding from Charity along the Essequibo Coast Public Road when he lost control and the vehicle crashed into the iron rails of the Somerset and Berks bridge around 01:30 hrs.
The Licensing Officer in the Police Division was rescued by other vehicle drivers and rushed to the hospital.
His car is badly damaged while the rails on the bridge were knocked out of place.
