Son injured in robbery attack on businesswoman

A BUSINESSWOMAN’S son was shot and injured in an armed robbery at Foulis, East Coast Demerara, on Monday evening. It happened when the woman, Latchmin Nauth and her two sons, Prem, 25 and Keshwar, 13, returned home about 18:22 hrs.
She was attacked and robbed by four men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
After they arrived at the house, in their motor vehicle, Keshwar went to open the gate and was confronted by the robbers.
His brother, Prem ventured to assist him and in the process, was shot on his right leg.
The bandits then took away their mother’s handbag which contained an undisclosed sum of money and escaped.
Prem has been admitted as a patient at Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).
