POLICE are investigating the death of pensioner and licensed firearm holder, Joseph Rodrigues, 83, of Chateau Margot, East Coast Demerara, which occurred at about 11:55hrs yesterday. Investigations so far have revealed that Joseph Rodrigues confronted his daughter, Angelia, over a sum of money that he claimed was owed to him by her now deceased child-father.
He attacked her with a piece of wood which she managed to take away from him.
Then he picked up his shotgun and discharged a round at her, but he missed her.
Apparently filled with remorse at what he had done, Rodrigues then shot himself in the head.
