QUEEN’S College (QC) Badminton Team defeated Marian Academy Badminton Team 3 – 2 to win the Friendly Team Tournament which was contested at the Queen’s College Badminton Courts last Tuesday. The Marian Academy Team was welcomed by the Games Master of QC Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell and Physical Education Teacher Quasen Nedd, who is also the Cricket Coach of Queen’s College.
This is the second encounter of the two teams. Marian Academy won on their home ground a few weeks ago 3-2 and Queen’s College exacted revenge at home this time around.
In the Boys’ Singles Narayan Ramdhani of Marian Academy defeated Noel Shewjattan of Queen’s College 21-9 and in the Girls’ Singles saw Greer Jackson of Queen’s College defeated Tisel Patterson of Marian Academy 21-6.
The Boys’ Doubles saw QC’s Cecil Abrams and Omari Joseph, defeat Jonathan Mangra and Ronald Chang Yuen of Marian Academy 21-14 while in the Girls’ Doubles Ambika Ramraj and Angelica Holder of Queen’s College claimed victory over Priyanna Ramdhani and Anesa Bird 21-10.
Finally, the Mixed Doubles saw the Ramdhani siblings Narayan and Priyanna of Marian Academy got the better of Noel Shewjattan and Greer Jackson 21-17.
