TWO men have been detained after police found an unlicensed .32 pistol with five rounds, a hand grenade and a toque mask in a haversack that one of them was carrying. The duo in custody were stopped and searched by a mobile patrol, as they were walking along Broad Street, Charlestown, Georgetown, yesterday morning about 00:05 hrs.
Meanwhile, in a different incident, another man was arrested on Tuesday and is also being held after police responded to a report of threatening behaviour and discovered an unlicensed gun in a dwelling house.
Police said, about 14:45 hrs, following the report, ranks went to the house in Third Street, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, where they made the find of a .25 ‘Titan’ pistol with 15 matching rounds.
